I support the motion moved by Ms Lee Rhiannon. This is not a discussion about the pros and cons of Somersby sandmine; it is a discussion about transparency. The motion calls on the Government to provide information that the public has a right to know. The public has a right to know all the facts about Somersby sandmine.

To say the New South Wales budget was thin on the ground with infrastructure projects is an understatement. After 14 years of Labor's economic mismanagement, the people of this State were given a budget that is based on deception and failure, fanciful figures and no plan for the future. |

The inquiry by General Purpose Standing Committee No. 2 into the budget estimates examined a number of portfolio areas. The committee also held two supplementary hearings, one into the portfolio area of Education and Training and one into Disability Services.
